“A pearl surrounded by the sands” - one of the names Uzbekistan got in the past. Uzbekistan is one of the most ancient countries in Central Asia with century’s long history, a place of contacts of great cultures of China, India, Middle East and Europe. It is unique in its way, a place where one can trace the evidence of cultural exchange of different nations and peoples. For centuries the magnificent blue domes of Samarkand, the famous madrassahs and mosques of Bukhara and Khiva caused admiration of the people.

Duration: 9 days/8 nights by flights of Uzbekistan Airways, Turkish Airlines, Aeroflot (Russian Airlines)

Day 1/2: Arrival Tashkent – Urgench/Khiva
Arrival in Tashkent. Accommodation at hotel. Start exploration of the capital of Uzbekistan – Tashkent was known as important trade point on the Great Silk Route. Today it is a huge modern city of European style.
Visit to the madrassah of Kukeldash, Mausoleum of Kaffal Shashi, that together with the 16th century Barak Khan madrasah and the largest in the city Telya Shekh Friday mosque is part of the Khast-Imam complex. Enjoy exploration of the Chorsu Bazaar. Visit to the Independence Square. We drive before the Presidential Palace and via boulevard named Broadway to the monument of Amir Timur and to Alisher Navoi Theatre Square.
Transfer to airport for evening flight to Urgench. Arrival and transfer to Khiva alt  - the last capital of Khorezm region. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Khiva
Today explore Khiva - an architectural masterpiece of Central Asia, a city of palaces and splendor minarets, unique mausoleums and madrassahs. A walk in Khiva will bring you to the world of Thousand and One Arabian Nights fairytales from a long forgotten childhood. We visit the most important monuments of the city, such as the Kunya-Ark citadel with the Kurinish Khana; the mausoleums of Seyid Allauddin and Pakhlavan Mahmoud; the Juma - Friday mosque; the Palace of Tash Hauli with its beautiful courtyard of khans harem; madrassah and minaret of Islam Khodja (19th c.). Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Khiva – Bukhara (450km)
Drive to Bukhara alt across the Kyzylkum desert. We attempt to break up the journey with stops along the Amu-Daria (Oxus) river. Arrival and accommodation at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Bukhara
Enjoy whole day excursion in Bukhara - Central Asia's holiest city with ancient buildings dating back to the previous millennium, the city center has century-old buildings, and almost takes you back in time. We walk up through the western gate to the Ark Citadel, the Bolo Hauz Mosque, Mausoleum of Ismail Samani, Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum with the holy water source, complex Lyabi Hauz, Magoki Attari Mosque, the trading domes. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Bukhara – Samarkand (300 km)
Continue visits in Bukhara: Poi Kalyan complex, the Ulugbek and Abdul Aziz Khan madrasahs. Transfer to Samarkand alt - the city which has marvelous and attractive power. Poets and historians of the past called it “Rome of the East, “The pearl of the Eastern Moslem World”. Arrival and accommodation at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Samarkand
Full day sightseeing tour of Samarkand including majestic Registan Square, the most beautiful place of Central Asia, the Bibi Khanum Mosque, the necropolis of Shakhi Zinda and Mausoleum of Gur-Emir.
Tea-party with halva at ancient caravanserai. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Samarkand – Tashkent (2 h by train)
Continue exploration of Samarkand: visit to the excavation site of Afrosiab and Museum with the unique wall painting from 7th c.; Ulugbek Observatory. Excursion to the Meros Paper Mill. This evening board a high-speed train to Tashkent. Arrival and accommodation at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Tashkent - Departure
Transfer to airport for your next destination.
